We had the opportunity to work with Alpheus Media on this incredibly powerful project. They shot it in the studio and Parke worked closely with Director Matt Hames to establish this edgy, high contrasty look to enhance the content.

Creatively, we love projects like these because they were shot to be color corrected. We love the RED shot flat because it gives us an enormous amount of latitude in post to create a highly stylized look to compliment the message or narrative.

Bromst Vegetable Oil Mission Trailer from Stuck On On on Vimeo.

Dan Deacon and his band put out a plea on Pitchfork Media to help them garner used vegetable oil for this tour bus. 5 gallons = free entrance to show. 30+ gallons = band cooks you dinner on the bus. We went for 30+ and recruited some of our friends. We documented our process. Got to hang out with the band on their bus outside Emo's in Austin. It was totally worth it.

We're finishing up The Eyes of Me this week because it is premiering Wed., March 18th at 7:15 p.m. during SXSW.

An extraordinary look at 4 blind teens. The parallel stories of 2 freshmen and 2 seniors unfold over the course of one dynamic year at the Texas School for the Blind in Austin. EYES offers a fresh perspective on growing up and fitting in.

Distilled from over 250 hours of footage, this experiential doc captures a textured portrait of its characters. Director Keith Maitland worked closely with the film's subjects to produce sequences of stylized rotoscopic animation to complement the film's observational aesthetic.

Forced to confront the world without sight, they share their thoughts, their perceptions, their inner-visions of the outer world. You cannot understand their perceptions without challenging your own.

Vignette Village Extravaganza

Lyman made some killer music for Shiny Object's Vignette Village project. Lyman also collaborated with Marty Lester at Tequila Mockingbird.

We got to attend the launch and peek behind the stage to see the massive speakers and matrix-like cables. It was spectacular. The piece reminded us of one of our favorite artists Jason Salavon and his Shoes, Domestic Production, 1960-1998.

We do have say it was a little strange to kick out the jams at 8:45 a.m. in the morning at the Hilton. The final video projection measured 100 ft x 15 ft.

Pong Rockin' the Praying Mantis Bike

Our special friends at The Austin Bike Zoo asked Pong if they'd like to rock out on a praying mantis bike for Austin's First Night Parade. How could they resist? After months of building and testing, the bike was complete and the highlight of the parade.

Note, Lyman drumming in his saucy black wig and yes, Parke is the one dancing around complete with mullet, moustache and a "hiney pack."

Four Teens. One Dynamic Year. How do you see yourself when you can’t see at all?

Stuck On On is proud to announce they will be working with independent filmmaker Keith Maitland and independent producer Patrick Floyd on their documentary The Eyes of Me, formerly titled Keep Your Ear on the Ball. Funded by an ITVS grant, this story follows the lives of four blind teenagers and the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

It is a project near and dear to our hearts. Our audio guru, Lyman Hardy worked for many years at TSB while he toured in his band Ed Hall. Also, many of our friends are also teachers at TSB.

Amy Poehler is launching a fresh and wholly original digital series that celebrates young girls who are changing the world by being themselves. The show - Smart Girls at the Party - aims to help girls find confidence in their own aspirations and talents, and to prove that you don't have to be famous to be interesting.

Ryan Junell's The Bus

This week we're working with San Francisco based Media Director and Designer Ryan Junell on his new documentary The Bus.

A 20 minute short documentary about a homemade mobile music venue from Oakland, CA that runs on veggie oil. The film follows the bus as it travels from town to town with a vibrant crew of itinerants, chronicling the high and low points of life surrounding this unique temporary art space and social utopia.

We also get to master his music video for the Octopus Project.

Order of Myths

Mobile, Alabama was the home of the very first Mardi Gras celebration in the United States. To this day , the city still has two separate carnivals: one white and one black. The trailer was edited in Austin by Ariel Quintans while filmmaker Margaret Brown was showing the film at festivals in L.A. and Berlin. "The Order of Myths" is set for theatrical release in July.

Lyman mixed the audio for the new trailer for The Order of Myths. Lyman and Allison loved this project because they were in Mobile with their family at this Mardi Gras in 2007. They attended their family's ball and even saw Margaret's crew shooting.

We just finished this great Sweet Leaf Tea branding video for The Butler Brothers. We got to work with our friend Jeff Nichols.

Sweet Leaf Tea's story of homegrown entrepenureship is so dear and close to the three of us that we found ourselves telling their story over and over. Allison is even trying to convince her sister Emma Lee to sell their tea in her Rhode Island grocery store Sandy's. This project gave us the chance to showcase a variety of our talents and work for a good cause.

We even found ourselves drinking more iced tea. It really does taste great.

new Photoshop CS3 training video hits the market

Allison authored a series of interactive Adobe Photoshop CS3 lessons with Firefly Learning, Inc. She devised the curriculum and produced the videos. She even made her debut in voice over recording. Looks so Bad its Good

Parke worked his magic on this AARP spot for Action Figure.

Parke's Approach:

On this assignment we were asked to make a spot look like bad video from the 70's. This involved correcting footage shot on an old (broken) tube camera that produced an unwanted, gnarly magenta shift. This 'new' footage was being mixed with existing footage shot on film in the 70's. We started with fixing the magenta footage and then washing out, bringing up the contrast, and adding a red tint to the existing footage to make it look like video. The result was finding a middle ground... allowing all the parts to work together in a good way... to make it look bad.
